Esoteric Acupuncture: Multi-dimensional healing 

Esoteric Acupuncture embraces many truths, including the basic understanding of energy and matter set forth by Albert Einstein in foundational understanding of physics, that matter is only energy slowed down enough to take a more solid form. When we apply this concept to what we think of as the boundaries of our personal being, we realize those edges are quite soft, that we are not limited to this slow or dense energy alone.  We also begin to understand that we cannot heal using the system under which we became sick.

Dr. Dixie Small has had the great privilege of studying under Dr. Mikio Sankey, founder of Esoteric Acupuncture, and is honored to be able to provide these transformational treatments in Portland, Oregon. This is work that evolves with both patient and practitioner over time, and allows for multi-dimensional growth of the individual.

As with all forms of Acupuncture, Esoteric Acupuncture works with the Meridian system that courses throughout the body, as well as that extending beyond the dense physical being.  Understanding that the Acupuncture of today has roots predating Acupuncture in China, reaching back to the Hindu Naddi system. This system conceived of a vast number of points and channels in our being- far too many for a human mind to be able to work with effectively.  To create an applicable form of medicine, those who gathered this information were able to reduce that system to something more familiar to the modern Acupuncturist of today.  Hence, the organic inclusion of the concept of Chakras or energy centers to aid diagnosis and treatment is one of the pivotal keys accessible within Esoteric Acupuncture.

What to expect?

Any holistic treatment includes consideration of diet, lifestyle and activities.  In this respect, Esoteric Acupuncture is no different. For this reason, a series of EA treatments at Wellness At The Center always begins with a thorough health history and intake, just as with a traditional Acupuncture treatment series.  In this way, any appropriate recommendations and herbal protocols may be discerned. The acupuncture treatment usually consists of shallow needle insertion across the back and front of the body, in two parts. Allow at least 90 minutes for the appointment, not including intake forms.* 

The typical follow-up Esoteric Acupuncture treatment is similar, with a short status update, also consisting of 2 parts and takes about 90 minutes. Most commonly, people report feeling very relaxed and having amazing sleep following treatments, in addition to positive changes in their specific health conditions.
